Parent Heart Watch (PHW) is a state-by-state network of parents dedicated to reducing the often disastrous effects of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in children. Parent Heart Watch enables information sharing, support networks, and the formulation of nationwide programs that meet our mission and vision objectives.
PHW calls on the talents and passion of parents whose children have suffered from SCA. Its mission has been brought to life through the following types of programs:
- National Leadership Forum to build a national network, "one voice" in the fight against SCA
- AED Placement & Education in schools, sports venues and other public places where youth congregate
- Cardiac Screenings for young people nationwide
- Advocacy Programs

The Nicholas Ryan Over Foundation has donated an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) to at least 30 South Central Pennsylvania schools thus far, as well as assisted other public facilities with their purchase of an AED. They have instituted the South Central PA Heart-Safe Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) Program and provide instruction and training regarding AED use. They can help you set up a Heart-Safe program in your school or public facility.
If your school or public facility does not have the resources to obtain an AED or wants to purchase one at the lowest possible price, they can help you. They do not profit from the sale of any AEDs.

(SADS)
The SADS Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to supporting families and individuals who may be genetically predisposed to sudden cardiac death due to cardiac arrhythmias through education, research and advocacy. Information is provided with the hope that informing physicians, other health care providers, and the public will encourage early and correct diagnosis and proper therapy, resulting in the reduction and ultimately elimination of cardiac arrest and sudden death from inherited LQTS.
When a family member dies suddenly before the age of 40, please read this important information:
